Just hearing the term overclocking might get some computer enthusiasts off their seats. No doubt it can be a very exciting process. To make things easy let me first tell you briefly what overclocking is. Overclocking is the practice of modifying preset manufacturer parameters to increase certain aspects like performance and such. Yes there are some pros and cons therefore do your complete research before hand. But hey look at things this way. IF you own an Italian sports car worth $600 000, and you simple cruise down the roads, within the speed limit there’s no fun to it, right ? In fact any old beater can do that. The REAL power and feel of that Italian sports car is seen when you RIP apart the roads at 300mp/h. That’s the real use for it, that’s the real rush. Similarly to some people, just buying an old computer and using as intended is just not enough, they need to push it to its limits to reveal its true hidden power.
Overclocking can have some GREAT advantages such as MORE power, HARDER working hardware and a STRONGER beast like system in general. But again there are some precautions and downsides, so research before hand. The reason why I say that is because, many young newbies drive directly into the world of overclocking without knowing much. Yes there are easy to use Interface programs, and all they require is a few clicks, but those same few clicks can be disastrous. By overclocking your pushing your electrical components within your computer to their limits, done incorrectly this is an easy way to fry up your mother board, and destroy some curial parts within your system. Creating electrical fires is also not too difficult for when go wrong. Considering all this and placing it in the equations some people may chicken out. Those might be the people who drive their Italian car 20km below the speed limit and wear seat belts all the time. As we all know there is no fun to that, right ?
